Amit Shah's Sharp Critique: Challenges Rahul Gandhi on Kashmir

Amit Shah, while conducting a roadshow in Rajasthan’s Udaipur on Friday evening took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and mocked him over his earlier remarks that the removal of Article 370 will lead to turmoil in Kashmir. The BJP leader said that under Prime Minister Modi’s government, no one has the guts to throw a stone in the state.

The roadshow was held hours after voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections got over.

While addressing the rally, Shah said, “In Kashmir, (Peoples Democratic Party chief) Mehbooba Mufti and (Congress leader) Rahul Baba (Gandhi) used to say there would be bloodbath here once Article 370 is removed.”

He further said, “Rahul Baba, five years have passed (since the abrogation of Article 370). This is the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Leave alone the talk of the bloodbath, no one has the guts to throw a stone there.”

Shah held a roadshow in support of BJP candidate from Udaipur Lok Sabha seat, Mannalal Rawat, at Udaipur on Friday night. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in an open vehicle and the roadshow was carried out from Delhi Gate chauraha to Surajpole charaha.

In the roadshow of about one kilometer, the two BJP leaders greeted the workers and the public by waving hands.

The Home Minister also took a dig at the Congress and said that the voting on the seats that was held on Friday, will lead to the grand old party being wiped out.

Shah also exuded confidence that the BJP will win all seats in the state.

The 25 parliamentary constituencies of Rajasthan are polling in two phases. While the voting process for 12 seats concluded on Friday in the first phase, the remaining 13 seats in the state will be contested in the second phase on April 26.
