For the high-octane gangster drama, Rana reunites with director Teja. The duo had earlier worked together for 'Nene Raju Nene Mantri'.

The film's title was revealed during the celebration of Rana Daggubati's birthday. On December 14, Rana shared his first-look poster from his upcoming cinematic venture, 'Rakshasa Raja' and wrote, "#RakshasaRaja begins (fire emoji) (sic)."
In the poster, Rana is seen holding a massive gun on his shoulder with bullets on the other. Sporting vibhoothi and tilak, he looks ferocious with a cigar in his mouth.
