Star Indian opening batter Gongadi Trisha created history on Tuesday, January 28, by becoming the first player in the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup to score a century. The right-handed batter achieved the feat during India’s Super Six match of the 2025 edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup, which is currently underway at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
The 19-year-old crossed the 100-run mark with a single on the last ball 18th over of India’s innings, which was bowled by Scotland spinner Maisie Maceira. She needed 53 balls to score 100 runs and has so far hammered 12 fours and four sixes.
