Brother Of Lashkar Terrorist Votes In Kashmir, Asks People Not To 'Waste' Vote

Srinagar: In a big development signalling winds of change in Kashmir, the brother of an active terrorist voted in the ongoing election and also appealed to the people to cast vote.

Rouf Lone is the brother of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Umar Lone.

Rouf also appealed to his brother to surrender before the security forces.


"Come to the polling booths, don't waste your vote. I appeal to my brother Umar to surrender before security forces. If he will do so, that will be his kindness," said Rouf Lone after he voted in Pattan.

Pattan, is a sub-district town and a municipal community in Baramulla district which is voting in Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha elections.

Nearly 17.32 lakh voters will decide the fate of 23 candidates in fray in Baramulla.

Polling is taking place two days after two back-to-back terror attacks in the South Kashmir district. A former sarpanch was killed in Shopian and a tourist couple from Rajasthan was injured in Anantnag in the recent attacks.

The incident took place days after Srinagar recorded the highest polling in almost three decades, at 38%.
