Canadian Prime Minister asks India to 'take allegations seriously'India suspends visa services.


New Delhi-India suspended visa services for canadian nationals indefinitely amid the ongoing tension between the two countries with effect from 21 september 2023 and the visa services will be suspended till further notice.Ottawa also temporarily adjusting it's staff presence in India to ensuring the safety purpose of diplomats.


This comes after Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Justin Trudeau on monday said that Canada's security agencies had information indicating agents of the Indian government had assassinated the Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.


The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met PM Modi on wednesday in the new parliament to discuss the ongoing diplomatic issue.India advised its citizens in Canada and those contemplating travelling, to exercise "utmost caution" in view of anti-India activities and politically condoned hate crimes. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead on June 18 outside a Sikh cultural center in surrey, British Columbia.


Nijjar had a long tryst with Khalistan militancy since migrating to Canada. He was the "mastermind" of the Khalistan Tiger Force a terrorist group which was banned. He was also part of the banned separatist outfit Sikhs for Justice.


Nijjar was declared a designated terrorist by India in 2020.
