Character Journey: Bhoomi Shetty Explores Actors' Evolution Through Character Development

Since her career began, actress Bhoomi Shetty has been getting into the skin of a variety of characters, each of whom, she says, has been quite unlike her off-screen personality. “I believe I have rarely essayed roles that suit my age. Filmmakers, however, have felt that I suited those roles so I never complained about it. In fact, I learned to relish the challenge that playing a different kind of role brings,” she says. “I believe doing different kinds of roles help an actor evolve and experiment with their acting style – which is a blessing. When I act, it’s all about focusing on the arc of a character and trying to give as much life to that character as I can,” she says

‘Excited and nervous about my Tamil debut’

The Kannada actress, who will be making her Tamil debut with an as-yet-untitled project directed by Shiv Ganesh, tells us she’s looking forward to crossing this barrier. “I think if an actor proves in one industry, he or she can work anywhere,” she adds. Speaking further about her Tamil debut, she says: “The director had seen my profile and felt I would do justice to the role. That’s how I landed in the Tamil industry. I am excited; at the same time, I’m also nervous about how I will fare on the set as I’m not fluent in Tamil.”
