Key candidates and constituencies: The Capital is set to witness a tight contest in New Delhi constituency between former chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, former BJP MP Parvesh Verma, and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit - son of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit. The Kalkaji seat will witness a contest between AAP candidates and Delhi CM Atishi, BJP's Delhi unit chief Ramesh Bidhuri, and Congress's Alka Lamba. Another high-profile contest will unfold in Jangpura, a seat that the AAP has won for two consecutive times. The ruling party has fielded a new candidate this time in Manish Sisodia, who will be up against BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah, and Congress's Farhad Suri.

Poll pitches and party campaigns: The AAP took the decision to not hold huge rallies but go door-to-door, as per a senior party leader. Party chief Arvind Kejriwal highlighted AAP's popular welfare schemes, promising to fulfill the government’s budget promise of Rs 1,000 for women under the age of 60 who do not pay taxes. Kejriwal also promised to increase this to Rs 2,100 if the party comes to power. Principal Opposition BJP and the Congress also followed AAP's lead, announcing sops for the underprivileged in the national capital. The BJP also reached out to its middle-class base, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscoring the tax relief provided in the Union Budget at a poll rally. The Congress also pledged various sops for Delhi voters, from Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women to Rs 25 lakh health insurance for every resident.
