DELHI: The Indian women's doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa secured their second Super 100 title at the Guwahati Masters Super 100 tournament on Sunday.
They defeated the Chinese Taipei duo Sung Shuo Yun and Yu Chien Hui in a straight-game victory, with a scoreline of 21-13, 21-19, during the 40-minute final in Guwahati
Ashwini Ponnappa, 34, and 20-year-old Tanisha Crasto began their partnership in January of the current year and have swiftly achieved success.
Notably, they were part of India's Asian Games squad in Hangzhou, China. Ashwini, a seasoned doubles player, had previously found success with Jwala Gutta, earning medals at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
After parting ways with Sikki Reddy in 2022, Ashwini formed a successful partnership with Tanisha. Tanisha, initially excelling in mixed doubles, later focused on women's doubles and joined forces with Ashwini after struggling to find a consistent partner.
The duo's collaboration has proven fruitful, culminating in notable victories and adding a dynamic dimension to India's representation in women's doubles badminton
