"Enchanting Performances at Downing Street Diwali"

London: Days before Diwali, Rishi Sunak invited guests from the Hindu community to Downing Street, the locale of British prime ministers. The Prime Minister's office in the UK shared a glimpse of Sunak welcoming the guests.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister of the UK’s official X account shared the news. “Tonight Prime Minister @RishiSunak welcomed guests from the Hindu community to Downing Street ahead of #Diwali – a celebration of the triumph of light over darkness,” it said

A few pictures were also added to the UK Prime Minister’s post. In the pictures, Rishi Sunak can be seen lighting a lamp along with his wife, Akshata Murty. In another picture, Sunak can be seen interacting with the members of the Hindu faith, who were filled with enthusiasm, probably for getting to meet Prime Minister Sunak. The Prime Minister’s office further wished people around the world of a very happy Diwali. “Shubh Diwali to everyone across the UK and around the world,” the post by the UK Prime Minister’s office said. Images released by Downing Street on X showed the prime minister of the United Kingdom and his spouse, Akshata Murty, lighting diyas in front of a sizable crowd of guests. Diwali represents the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness on a spiritual level. Diwali will be observed on November 12 this year. During a recent phone call, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak talked about the status of the Free Trade Agreement. In addition, Sunak complimented PM Modi on Team India's successful performance at the current Cricket World Cup.
