For several Indians living abroad, finding a familiar homegrown brand in a foreign supermarket is always a moment of joy. That's exactly what happened when an Indian-origin entrepreneur found Amul Gold milk bottles on the shelves of a Costco store in Texas, USA.
In a post on X, Ram Prasad shared a photo of the dairy brand's signature milk jars, placed neatly on display. "Amul in Costco. The takeover is near," he wrote. He later confirmed that he had come across the product at a Costco store in Austin, Texas.
Take a look at the post here:
As expected, the post had Amul loyalists sharing their thoughts.
A user, hopeful that more products would make their thoughts, said, "I'll be happy if I see Amul cheese." To this Ram Prasad reacted, "Amul butter is amazing, but Amul cheese? There are better options." Clearly, not everyone is a fan.
One curious user asked, "Wait, is this made in the US, or are they importing it?" To which Prasad reacted, "I think it's shipped from India."

Amul's presence in American supermarkets isn't entirely new. In March last year, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which owns the dairy giant, announced its plans to launch fresh milk in the US for the first time.
