Vaidehi Nair is all set to grace the small screen with her portrayal of the enigmatic character Urmila in the highly anticipated show "Srimad Ramayan." In an exclusive conversation, Vaidehi shared her insights and sentiments about stepping into the shoes of this iconic character
"In Ramayan, I play the character of Urmila, Lakshmana's wife. She is as dedicated to Sita as Lakshmana was to Rama. She was ready to accompany Lakshmana during their exile; however, Lakshmana asked her to stay back to look after his ageing parents," Vaidehi revealed.
Urmila, often overshadowed by other prominent characters in the epic saga, will be seen coming to life through Vaidehi Nair's portrayal. The actress acknowledges the limited textual references to Urmila in Ramayana but emphasizes the depth she found through extensive research.
"Yes, there is not much text about Urmila, but I saw a lot of videos where scholars have talked in detail about Urmila and her sacrifice and everything and that is how I prepped for the character," Vaidehi explained. Her dedication to understanding the character showcases the meticulous preparation she brings to her roles
