"Investors sell Rs 4,499 cr, while buyers acquire Rs 3,563 cr, boosting Nifty and Sensex in market rebound."

Foreign institutional investors continued selling Indian equities as they net sold Rs 4,499 crore worth of shares. On the other hand, Domestic institutional investors net bought Rs 3,563 worth of equities.

According to provisional data from the exchanges, FIIs bought Rs 10,309 crore and sold Rs 14,808 crore. Meanwhile, DIIs picked up Rs 12,656 crore in shares and dropped Rs 9,093 crore worth of equity in the session.




Sensex fell nearly 1 percent during the day before closing at 72,776, up 0.15 percent while Nifty closed at 22,104, up by 0.22 percent, after falling around 180 points.


Nifty Pharma which surged 1.8 percent, followed by Nifty Metal and Realty, (up 1.3 percent each) were the biggest gainers. They were followed by Nifty Bank, which rose 0.7 percent, while Nifty IT gained 0.4 percent. On the downside, Nifty Auto dropped 1.68 percent, followed by Nifty PSU Bank down 1.2 percent.

In the year so far, FIIs have sold Rs -113,723 crore worth of shares. DIIs have bought Rs 175,594 crore at the same time. Nifty has advanced 20.14 percent so far in the year while Sensex has advanced 16.73 percent.
