Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has sold his luxurious duplex apartment in Oshiwara, Mumbai, for a massive sum of Rs. 83 crore. The sale, registered in January 2025, was confirmed through property documents reviewed by Square Yards on the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website.


The apartment is located in Oshiwara, a lively area in western Mumbai, known for its vibrant atmosphere and excellent connectivity. It is close to the popular Lokhandwala Complex and offers easy access to main roads and the Mumbai Metro, making it a prime spot for modern living. The property is part of "The Atlantis," a premium residential project by Crystal Group, which spans 1.55 acres and offers luxurious 4, 5, and 6 BHK apartments.


This duplex apartment, which has a total built-up area of around 5,704 square feet and a carpet area of 5,185 square feet, is an impressive property. It also features a large terrace of about 4,800 square feet, offering a spacious outdoor area for leisure. Additionally, the apartment comes with six mechanized parking spaces for convenience. The stamp duty for the sale amounted to Rs. 4.98 crore, and the registration charge was Rs. 30,000.

A detailed analysis of the property’s history shows that Amitabh Bachchan bought the apartment for Rs. 31 crore in April 2021, and its value has significantly increased, selling now for Rs. 83 crore, which reflects a 168% rise in value. Notably, the apartment was rented out to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021 for Rs. 10 lakh per month, along with a security deposit of Rs. 60 lakh, as per lease documents.

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the most celebrated actors in Bollywood, known for his powerful performances and iconic roles in films such as Sholay, Deewar, and Piku. With a career spanning more than 50 years, he has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, making him one of India's most respected cultural figures.
