Is Bengaluru Facing School and College Closures Due to Heavy Rainfall and Yellow Alert?

Entire Bengaluru has been put under yellow alert with a prediction of heavy rain and cloudy sky over the city on Monday (December 2). Whereas neighbouring districts like Mandhya, Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu and Shimoga among others are under an orange alert. Schools and colleges were closed in Chennai and adjoining areas recently and the same could be the situation in Bengaluru as well. However, so far, the Karnataka government has not made any such announcement.

"Will Bengaluru Schools and Colleges Remain Closed Today Due to Heavy Rainfall and Yellow Alert in the City?"

Meanwhile, as per the IMD, Bengaluru weather will ease from Tuesday with light rain expected to lash different areas. From Wednesday onwards, the sky would be partly cloudy with no rain prediction for the week.

Cyclone Fengal made landfall near Puducherry on November 30 and remained stationary near the union territory. According to the IMD, it gradually weakened in the next three hours. However, the gusty winds and heavy showers led to the closure of Chennai airport for hoursafter multiple airlines diverted, and later cancelled flights to and from the city.

According to a PTI report, Puducherry recorded its highest rainfall of 46 cm, IMD-Regional Meteorological Centre, Additional Director General, S Balachandran, said on Sunday.
