Sreejita De, known for her roles in Uttaran and Nazar, as well as her stint on Bigg Boss 16, has embarked on a new chapter of marital bliss with her partner, Michael Blohm-Pape. Following their dreamy church wedding in Germany last year, the couple celebrated their union once more with a traditional Bengali wedding in Goa. Michael, from Germany, met Sreejita in 2019, and their romance has flourished ever since, culminating in a picture-perfect engagement in 2021 and now a vibrant cross-cultural marriage.
Sreejita shared first pictures from her traditional wedding on Instagram and wrote, "Cherished for life, taken forever… " The couple looked resplendent in traditional Bengali attires. Sreejita donned the red saree while Michael complemented her in an ivory sherwani. The Insta carousel gives a beautiful glimpse into the various rituals they performed at the wedding.
Sreejita and Michael's first wedding in Germany was a fairytale come true. The couple exchanged vows in a serene chapel, with Sreejita stunning in a classic white gown and Michael looking dapper in a sui. Yet, Sreejita wanted to honour her Bengali heritage, so she planned a second celebration steeped in Indian tradition.
Soon the beaches of Goa were transformed into a spectacular wedding venue as Sreejita De and Michael Blohm-Pape celebrated their Bengali wedding. The festivities began with a colourful mehendi and haldi ceremony, where Sreejita dazzled in a gold-sequined blouse paired with a vibrant drape skirt, topped with edgy white sunglasses and a cropped biker jacket. Her fusion look seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary style.
Michael perfectly complemented her ensemble, donning an ivory kurta and trousers, topped with a bold multi-coloured jacket. Together, they embodied the ultimate fusion of classic and modern aesthetics.
Speaking to TOI, Sreejita explained why they chose Goa. “We spent almost eight months together in Goa during the lockdown. We realised we didn’t need to go out or do anything elaborate to be happy — we were content just being together. Michael loves the Goan vibe, the food, the lifestyle, and we’re both beach people, so a beach wedding felt perfect.”
