India’s music sensation Jasleen Royal is set to achieve a historic milestone as she becomes the first and only Indian artist to open for Coldplay during their Music of the Spheres India tour. With just one week remaining before the highly anticipated concerts, the buzz is electrifying as Jasleen prepares to share the stage with one of the most iconic bands in the world.
Taking to social media, Jasleen shared a sneak peek of her preparations with a post that read: “Life lately. Sing, sleep, cuddle 🐶 Repeat. One week to go for the Coldplay – Music of the Spheres India Tour.” The post has already sent her fans into a frenzy, further heightening the excitement for the global event.
Jasleen’s rise to international acclaim comes on the heels of her chart-topping success in 2023. Her latest hit, “Sahiba,” has not only dominated Indian music charts, marking her third consecutive #1, but also made waves globally, debuting as the highest new entry of the week. With her distinctive voice and heartfelt compositions, Jasleen is set to captivate Coldplay’s audience with her opening act.
Coldplay will perform at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, followed by two shows in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26. With their Music of the Spheres tour already a global phenomenon, these India dates are expected to be among the tour’s most memorable highlights.
In response to overwhelming demand, BookMyShow has announced additional tickets for Coldplay’s Mumbai concerts. The limited tickets will go on sale starting January 11 at 4 PM IST via the BookMyShow app. To manage the high demand, a waiting room system will open an hour earlier at 3 PM IST. Each user will be assigned a position in the queue through automated queue randomisation (AQR), with a maximum of four tickets allowed per transaction. Buyers will have four minutes to secure their seats once in the booking system.
Meanwhile, Coldplay’s Ahmedabad shows are under scrutiny from local authorities. A notice issued to Chris Martin and the event organisers specifies that children must not be involved on stage or allowed into the venue without proper hearing protection such as earplugs. Additionally, sound levels must not exceed 120 decibels to comply with noise control regulations. Failure to adhere to these guidelines could result in action from the District Child Protection Unit in Ahmedabad.
