"Latest Mumbai Billboard Collapse: 14 Dead, Rescue Ongoing"

Mumbai News LIVE: The death toll in the hoarding collapse incident in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area climbed to 14 while 74 people are injured, civic officials said on Tuesday morning. The 100-foot-tall illegal billboard fell at a petrol pump in Ghatkopar during dust storms and unseasonal rains that lashed Mumbai on Monday. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, search and rescue operations were still underway at the Chheda Nagar-based petrol pump. Of the 74 people rescued from the accident site, 31 people have been discharged from Rajawadi Hospital and 35 are undergoing treatment while the condition of one of them is critical, an official said. Meanwhile, eight more injured are undergoing treatment at three private and civic-run hospitals.

Meanwhile, in Wadala, a multi-storied, vertical steel parking lot near the Shreeji Towers building crashed on a main road around 4.15 p.m. on Monday, in the squally dust-storm. The tumbling parking lot crushed around a dozen vehicles and one person sitting in a car has been trapped, and 2 others were injured, said the officials.
