Legal Ramifications of Bhagwant Mann's Accusation

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's daughter Seerat Kaur Mann has made serious allegations against him, accusing him of emotional and physical abuse towards her mother, neglecting her and her brother, and even throwing her brother out of the CM's residence at night. Bhagwant Mann had tied the knot last year with Dr Gurpreet Kaur. It was the Punjab chief minister's second marriage. He had separated from his first wife Inderpreet Kaur after a mutual divorce in 2015 and they have two children Seerat Kaur Mann and her brother Dilshan

In a video message, Seerat Kaur Mann stated that she is sharing this information not for political reasons but to bring their story to the world's attention. Seerat Kaur Mann clarified that she will refer to her father as Mr. Mann or CM saab in the video, as he has lost the right to be called "papa" by her.

In the video message, Mann's daughter said, "I am Seerat Kaur Mann. I am the daughter of Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. At the outset, I am making it clear that in this video, I will refer to him as Mr Mann or CM saab. He has long ago lost the right to hear papa from me."

Seerat Kaur Mann emphasized that the only reason for making the video is to share their side of the story. She expressed that until now, only her father's version has been heard, and they have had to endure numerous difficulties and hardships as a result. She further stated that her mother and she, as his children, chose to remain silent, but their silence was misinterpreted as weakness.

As the video went viral, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) declined to comment. Before entering politics, Bhagwant Mann had a successful career as a comedian. In 2008, he participated in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge on Star Plus, which significantly increased his popularity. In the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, Mann was elected with a record margin of over 2 lakh votes from the Sangrur constituency. He also served as the Leader of the Parliamentary Party in the Lok Sabha.
