More than 128 people died early Saturday morning in the Himalayan nation of Nepal after a shallow earthquake of 5.6 magnitude struck a remote pocket of the nation.
The Nepalese National Seismological Centre said the earthquake was of magnitude 6.4 but the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) later downgraded the magnitude to 5.7 and the US Geological Survey pegged it as a magnitude 5.6, news agency Reuters said in a report.
