As the Pune Police approached the sessions court following the allegations of a shoddy investigation in the Pune Porsche crash case, the court on Tuesday came down heavily on bar owners and asked them to be responsible for those whom they serve alcohol in their pubs.
The court during the hearing said, “Those who are serving alcohol are also responsible to look after what their customers are doing. Those who come drinking to a club, will not be walking back home. Either you ensure that you cap the alcohol they consume or see to it that they have a driver to take them back home or tell them to sleep in your premises."
As of now, the police have arrested three accused in connection to the case. Vishal Agarwal, the father of the minor accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, was detained from Maharashtra’s Sambajinagar on Tuesday morning after he tried to evade arrest, news agency ANI reported quoting police. The owner and manager of the bar where the teen was seen drinking in the CCTV footage have also been arrested.
A 17-year-old boy driving a Porsche car on the roads of Pune city knocked down two motorbike riders in the early hours of Sunday, causing their death. The victims, a man and a woman, both aged 24 were techies hailing from Madhya Pradesh residing in Pune. Following the investigation, the police claimed the accused driver was drunk.
Shockingly, the teen driver, detained by the police, was granted bail in just under 15 hours by the Juvenile Justice Board. A huge outage was witnessed on social media after the Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the youngster on the same day, asking him to write an essay on road accidents

Highlighting the ongoing outrage over the Pune accident case, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the teen has committed a heinous crime and strict action should be taken in the matter as two people have lost their lives. He also pointed out that changes were made in matters related to juvenile after Nirbhaya case and said, “If the accused is above 16 years of age and has committed a heinous crime, they can be treated as an adult."
“The incident that happened in Pune in which two people died after a car which was driven by a minor hit them. There was a huge public outrage in Pune. When the minor was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board, the board took a very lenient view on this as it asked him to serve 15 days of social service," Fadnavis was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
“According to the application moved by the police, it was mentioned that the boy’s age was 17 years and 8 months. This is a heinous crime. After the Nirbhaya case, changes were made in the Juvenile Justice case that if the accused is above 16 years of age and the crime is heinous, the accused can be treated as an adult," he added.
