Rashid Khan's Rs 10 Crore Reward: The Inside Scoop

Afghanistan have impressed one and all with their performance and the world has taken the note of their performance. While social media has been flooded with posts about Afganistan's success, a fake message also captured the attention of the users.

As per The Times of India, there was a fake whatsapp forward about Ratan Tata announcing a reward of Rs 10 crore for Rashid Khan. Even though he isn't leading the team, Rashid is the most popular player from the Afghanistan cricket team. The fake news also reached Ratan Tata, who broke his silence on X.

"I have made no suggestions to the ICC or any cricket faculty about any cricket member regarding a fine or reward to any players. I have no connection to cricket whatsoever Please do not believe WhatsApp forwards and videos of such nature unless they come from my official platforms," the former TATA Chairman wrote on X.

Afghanistan kicked off their WC campaign with a defeat against Bangladesh. They suffered a one-sided defeat against India in their second game of the tournament. Afghanistan stunned the reigning world champions, England in their third game.

New Zealand registered a big 149-run win over Afghanistan on October 18. Afghanistan bounced back strongly from that defeat and successfully chased down the target of 283 against Pakistan in their fifth game.

They are at the seventh spot in the points table and are in contention to qualify for the semi-final.
