Sharmin Segal Criticized for Calling Aditi Rao Hydari a School Girl

Netflix and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s show Heeramandi is about a group of women going through different conflicts. However, some similar kind of conflict emerged when two of the actresses were seen together in an interview. Sharmin Segal got into an argument with Aditi Rao Hydari when they both were talking about actors and actresses’ insecurities.

Segal has landed in trouble again for calling Aditi a school girl in a viral interview. She said, "Aditi is a good school girl, please understand that. Teacher will say you have to submit your home work at this time and Aditi will do exactly that and not one more word than the word count limit. That is Aditi for you. So, according to her everyone is late and she is on time."

Netizens react

One fan wrote, “So, she doesn’t like Aditi doing her job?” Another fan defended Aditi and accused Sharmin of foul attitude. The fan wrote, “She’s speaking of her as if Aditi is her toddler or something. Ooof. She’s a senior actor compared to her. Why this foul attitude.” One more fan wrote, “Sounds like Aditi is a professional who is hardworking and takes her craft seriously. And this one just sounds bitter and jealous.”

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar absolutely exemplifies the changing roles of women in cinema. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a master at crafting powerful characters, and Heeramandiis no exception. Bhansali’s storytelling has inherent power because of the way he shapes his character and settings - not just the visual settings and the visual feasts he creates - it’s the power of the character in his stories that shine.
