Bollywood actress Tabu will be soon seen in the prequel series ‘Dune: Prophecy’ for a recurring role in the series, according to reports.
Tabu will portray the character of Sister Francesca, who is described as “Strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital.”
‘Dune: Prophecy' is an upcoming TV series set in the universe of Frank Herbert’s ‘Dune’. Not a lot is known about the series as of now but the announcement of Tabu bagging a key role in the series is great news for her fans.
Indian actresses are gaining global recognition with stars like Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt also appearing in international films.
‘Dune: Prophecy’ was earlier commissioned in 2019 and was titled ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’. It took inspiration from the book ‘Sisterhood of Dune’ written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
The book is described as - “Set within the expansive universe of ‘Dune,’ created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.”
In ‘Dune: Part 2’, Rebecca Ferguson’s role as Lady Jessica, also known as the Reverend Mother, showed us a glimpse of how powerful the Bene Gesserit truly are. Tabu is known for always delivering impactful and powerful performances so her being cast as a sister of the Bene Gesserit will be a real wonder to watch on screen.
