Cyclone Fengal Update: Cyclone Fengal is expected to bring a lot of rain. Over the southeast Bay of Bengal, the weather model system is predicted to develop into a deep depression or cyclonic storm by November 25 after intensifying into a depression by November 24.

A low-pressure system is predicted to develop between November 22–23. Notably, storms in the Bay of Bengal in November typically move toward Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Odisha. Fengal, however, is expected to reach the northern region of Sri Lanka between November 26 and 27.

Saudi Arabia has named the storm 'Cyclone Fengal.' In the Atlantic and Southern Hemisphere, cyclones are given neutral names by a group of 13 nations.

Bangladesh is first in the naming order, followed by India, Iran, the Maldives, and Myanmar. Then came Yemen, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

Heavy Rains, Strong Winds In Tamil Nadu

According to the ECMWF model, the system will become a depression on November 24 and proceed west-northwest, passing across the coast of Tamil Nadu as a depression on November 26. Significant rains and strong winds are predicted in areas of South India, especially Tamil Nadu, as the system strengthens.
