New Delhi: The Congress party finds itself in a new row and this one pertains to the name of the grand old party's new headquarters in the national capital. The Congress moved from its previous headquarters on 24 Akbar Road to Kotla Road. The party has named the new office 'Indira Bhawan', honouring former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.
However, an anonymous poster outside the new office with a poster of former PM Manmohan Singh mentions it as 'Sardar Manmohan Singh Bhawan'. The poster has led to confusion on the naming of the new headquarters.
Party leaders have refused the confusion angle and said that 'outsiders' put it up.
Later, reacting to the development, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that those who had nothing to do with the freedom struggle are making these statements.
"Modi ji believes that the country has got the freedom in 2014 because he became the PM then. And RSS believes that the country has got freedom when the consecration ceremony of Ram mandir took place. They don't remember 1947 because they never fought for it, went to jail. I condemn his statement. If he will give such statements then it will be very difficult for him to be here in India," he said,
