Actor Yami Gautam's father, filmmaker Mukesh Gautam, received his first National Film Award, and, the actor is overwhelmed with joy. Mukesh won the prestigious Best Punjabi Film award at the 70th National Film Awards for his film Baghi Di Dhee. The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, with President Droupadi Murmu honouring the winners.
Though Yami couldn't attend the event in person, she shared her excitement and emotions through an Instagram post. Watching the ceremony on television, she captured the moment her father received the award and posted photos. Her pride was palpable as she reflected on the significance of this milestone.
In her heartfelt message, Yami wrote, "Very emotional moment as my father, Shri Mukesh Gautam, received his first National Award as a director, for his film - Baghi Di Dhee. Emotions cannot be poured in words. I am such a proud daughter." She highlighted the challenges her father faced on his journey, praising his unwavering passion and commitment to his work. "Your family is proud of you, papa," she added, underscoring the deep admiration she holds for him.
Amidst this celebration, Yami is also embracing her new role as a mother. She and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, welcomed their son, Vedavid, on May 10. They shared the joyful news on Instagram, marking the occasion with a note that read, "We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our beloved son, Vedavid, who graced us with his birth on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritya. Please shower him with all your kind blessings and love."
Yami was last seen in the political action thriller Article 370, where she starred alongside Priyamani and Arun Govil.
